I'm Nic Elsom, a Qualified Bookkeeper, Registered BAS Agent and JP based on the Sunshine Coast, QLD.
I've worked over a number of years with a large range of clients in various small businesses in various industries such as hospitality, agriculture, building and trades, publishing, insurance, mortgage broking to name a few!
I love helping people make their business better and easier by making the bookwork, administration and finance side of the business something less stressful and confusing.
I'd love to help you whether you are just starting out, in the thick of it or have got to the point of needing to concentrate more on the actual focus of your business.
I'd love to support more local people and businesses. In saying that, I can also work for you remotely so no need for regular visits/or having to be on-site once everything is set up.
Personally, I love getting outdoors - to the beach, walking my dog, enjoying picnics, going to markets, grabbing a coffee in the sunshine and exploring everything the Sunshine Coast has to offer.

Accounting Software set up
Nice Bookkeeping can assist with setting up your accounting software to get you started right or switch you over from another platform. I'm am a Xero Certified Advisor but can work with other software as well. I can work with your Accountant to get everything set up to work for you as well as add and integrate apps as required.
Basic Bookkeeping
A Bookkeeping service provided by Nice Bookkeeping would include recording, storing, analysing, and interpreting financial information of a business. The service would also include reconciling bank statements, preparing financial statements and preparing reports.
BAS preparation and lodgement
BAS preparation and lodgement whether monthly or quarterly, to start you off or ongoing - I am a Registered BAS Agent with the TPB.
Payroll
Nice Bookkeeping's payroll service offers a comprehensive solution for businesses of any size. Our comprehensive service includes the setup of payroll accounts, the preparation of payrolls, the tracking of employee hours and salaries, and the filing of all necessary reports as well as Superannuation. Tax Returns are done by Accountants or Tax Agents. If you would like a referral, please let me know. I can only help with BAS preparation and lodgements.
I'm not a qualified Financial Advisor so no but I can suggest ideas and go through what works for me.
A Bookkeeper does or can do all the day to day, weekly or monthly entering of financial transactions such as invoicing, payroll, purchases, data entry & reconciliations of bank accounts. They also do the monthly and quarterly reporting and balancing of accounts including BAS lodgement (but only if they are a BAS agent!).
An Accountant goes over the completed accounts and makes any adjustments, analyses the data and completes the end of year tax returns and company financial statements plus gives short and long term financial advice on the operation of the business based on their analysis of your business accounts.
Ideally, a Bookkeeper works closely with the business owner on a regular basis but is also in consultation with their Accountant to ensure that things are entered correctly and in line with the financial plan for the business.
Both are important and whilst there is some overlap, they do have different roles in the success of your business. Oh, and Accountants charge more!
